I want to apologize for again getting extremely behind on my blog. And I also want to ask your patience once again. I’ve had a crazy/wonderful week (camping this weekend) and tomorrow evening I am leaving for San Pedro de Atacama, a 23 hour bus ride north of Santiago (we are hoping to spend a day in Bolivia which would be amazing!). But before I leave I have a test, and an essay to turn in. So I’ve been a little distracted lately and my blogging has taken a back seat. But I promise to update as soon as I finish my other test and 2 more essays I have to do the day after I get back from Atacama!! Basically, October 2007 might go down as the craziest month of my life!
The only thing really exicting that I want to fill you in on is LITRE. Its is the Chilean version of Poison Ivy and is equally horrible. I assume I came in contact with it while I was camping and for some reason it decided to attack my face. Apperently it is much more common to have litre on your face, which makes me feel a little better. But I woke up Monday morning with my eyes practically swollen shut and my entire face red, bumpy and burning. Olga took me to the hospital where I immediately received a cortisone shot and antihistamine pills. I am already doing better but my face is still a little red and it still itches a lot. For those who are interested, here is a webpage about Litre:

Alright, I’m going to go finish studying for my Education test tomorrow. Much love and I’ll be back in about a week!!

I just got caught up on your blog. God bless you for keeping it and sharing all of your wonderful stories. You are amazing! I hope you are having a good time camping! It is wonderful that you have time to enjoy Chile! Bless Olga for her love and caring. I hope your poison ivy clears up quickly! Poor baby!
Love and hugs, Mommer
P.S. I thought you were superhuman but am relieved to know that you broke down when you realized you had not seen Trevor in 4 months. It is OK to cry you know. Very sweet.
Fuzzy, The litre looks like it could be anywhere that that grows green foliage! It is quite pretty!!! The other plants on the link were beautiful too. I checked out San Pedro de Atacama and it looks like it is a desert? Nice market, churches and hotels. I am sure you will find some sort of unique Mass to attend while there as you always seem to do!
Oh, you neglected to mention the cost of your trip to the hospital. $60 bucks. I guess the pharmaceutical companies haven't made it down there to up the prices on prescriptions!
Love Mom
Kayla, I just caught up on your blog. I love reading about everything you're doing and experiencing. It really is like reading a good book. I love you and hope your trip is going well.
Love, Aunt Tracy
